Black Hmong In Northwest Vietnam
The Black Hmong are an ethnic minority group residing in Northern Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. The Black Hmong were originally immigrants from the Yellow River Basin in China. The immigration of the Hmong into SE Asia began in the 18th century due to the oppression of the Qing Dynasty.
The Hmong currently face political oppression and exclusion in SE Asia on account of their involvement in the Indochina wars of the 2oth century.
