Oryx Safari Photos and Information

View all of my oryx safari photos and information listed below. The safari encounters that I had with the oryx were primarily in Sossusvlei Namibia, Luderitz Namibia and Samburu National Reserve in Kenya.

The oryx is an animal with unique adaptation to extreme desert environments. The species is native to southern Africa, eastern Africa and Arabia. They can form large herds of up to 600 animals if the environment permits it. However, the oryx safari photos I accumulated show them solitary or in small herds co-mingling with zebra and other oryx.

The oryx displays a unique coloration of black, white and grey. Additionally, they have 2 long straight horns that make them very unique animals. The oryx are known to be ferocious fighters if provoked and they are capable of killing lions.

Each oryx safari photo is taken as they exist in their natural desert environment. See all oryx photos and facts in my travel links below.
