Your Dominica passport can be renewed at any Dominica embassy, consulate, honorary consulate or high commission office. Additionally, if you happen to be in Dominica, you can renew it through the local government office in Roseau – the capital city.
Although it is possible to renew the passport in person, it can also be done remotely by sending in the required documents and fees. This is very convenient for Dominica citizens who would need to travel long distances to access an authorized government office.
However, for Dominica citizens in locations such as the UAE, Athens, London or the Caribbean it may be easier to just do it in person, as there are local offices there to assist you.
Requirements to Renew Your Dominica Passport
The list of requirements to renew your Dominica passport depends on the office you choose for the renewal. For example, using an honorary consulate is beneficial because they assist with document preparation. Furthermore, the turn time may be significantly reduced e.g. 10 days vs six weeks. On the other hand, the fees are significantly higher.
Alternatively, going through the official UAE consulate will require lower fees but more effort on your behalf to prepare the documents. Assuming you decide to use an honorary consulate office such as in Athens, the required documents you can expect to prepare are:
- Certified copy of the Birth certificate or extract from the Birth Record, duly translated into English.
- Certificate of naturalization copy.
Dominica Passport Copy (old passport). - Passport Form application.
- Two (2) passport size photos, for the passport form application.
Send in scanned copies of everything first for preapproval. They will double check it and you can make any necessary adjustments before you follow up with the signed copies. If all goes well, you will have your new passport within 2 weeks.
