The Tsondab Sandstone formation is the fossilized remains of a 20 million year old desert in Namibia. This fossilized desert lies underneath the Namib Desert. It is fascinating that the Namib Desert is the oldest desert in the world but it lies on top of the fossilized remains of a 20 million year old prehistoric desert!
