Please find radiated tortoise photos here. This animal is an endangered species that is endemic to the island of Madagascar. The radiated tortoise life span can be as long as 188 years. However, the survival of the species is in danger. Threats to the species include deforestation and the international radiated tortoise pet trade. Unfortunately, the tortoise is also used as a local food source
The radiated tortoise predators are primarily human and only human intervention can lead to preserving their natural habitat. Additionally, radiated tortoise conservation work provides a good source of valuable employment on the island of Madagascar. The species lives throughout Madagascar however their preferred habitat is primarily located in the southern part of the island.
