Find my collection of Lemur photos here. Lemurs are animals that are endemic to the island of Madagascar. Due to millions of years of isolation the lemur species evolved independently of monkeys. As a result, the lemur species is one of the very unique Madagascar animals.
There are are 100 different varieties of lemur that live in Madagascar. However, the ring tailed lemur is the most common. These animals live in groups af about 30 animals. Additionally, they have conspicuous black rings around their eyes. They also have long tails with black and white rings. The Madagascar locals refer to them as “maky”.
I encountered 3 species of lemur while traveling in Madagascar. Ring tailed lemurs, brown lemurs and miniature nocturnal lemurs. I have a lot of excellent pictures of ring tailed lemurs and other cute lemur pictures.
Please find the links to my Madagascar travel posts below along with many cute lemur pictures and also photos of other Madagascar animals. All of the photos are taken by me. I hope you enjoy all of my lemur photos included in my Madagascar travel documentary.
