The Grenada citizenship program permits extended family members of the main applicant or the spouse of the main applicant to apply as dependents. This includes newborns plus dependent children age 30 and below without the need to be enrolled in full time education or children over 30 years old (if disabled). Furthermore, unmarried, childless siblings over 18 years old and parents or grandparents of any age are eligible.

Grenada Real Estate Option
To support the Grenada tourism industry, Grenada citizenship by investment allows applicants to qualify by investing a minimum of $220,000 into a government approved real estate development. The investor is required to own the property for a minimum of 5 years, after which it can be sold while retaining Grenada citizenship in perpetuity. Investors may sell to new citizenship applicants which significantly increases the pool of potential buyers.

Grenada National Transformation Fund
The alternate path to Grenada citizenship is making a minimum nonrefundable $150,000 contribution into the Grenada National Transformation Fund (NTF). This option was created by the government in order to provide funding for important economic segments of the island’s economy including tourism, agriculture and alternative energy.

Professional fees may be required on NTF applications and will vary in relation to the number of dependents and the complexity of the application.
Grenada Citizenship Approval Process
- The investor enters into the professional service agreement with iGlobal and submits the professional retainer fee.
- (Real Estate Only) The investor completes the reservation forms and enters into a purchase and sale agreement for the property. Additionally, 10% down payment is collected.
- All of the application forms are completed and the supporting documents are collected.
- After thorough review by our legal team, the completed forms and supporting documents are submitted to the Grenada CBIU.
- Due diligence fees and all government fees are collected and submitted at this time.
- After submission, the application processing time is usually 3-4 months.
- Upon completion, the CBIU issues the application approval letter.
- The full investment amount is now submitted to the National Transformation Fund or real estate developer accordingly.
- The Grenada government procures the citizenship naturalization documents. Passport application fees are collected and the passport application is submitted to the department of immigration.
- After processing (2-3 weeks), the applicant’s passport(s) along with the naturalization documents are sent to the investor via a reputable delivery service.
US E-2 Visa
To apply for the US E-2 Visa, the applicant must be a citizen of a country with a bilateral investor treaty with the US. Grenada is one of the US E-2 treaty countries and therefore successful applicants under the Grenada citizenship by investment program are eligible to apply.
Effective January 1, 2023, please note that new legislation in the US now requires that Grenada citizens who obtained citizenship through investment must reside in Grenada for a minimum of three years before applying for the US E-2 visa.
The US E-2 visa requires applicants to invest a “substantial amount” with no set minimum into a US business. Additionally, the investment must equal at least 50% ownership in the business. If successful, the applicant can live and work in the US based on their investment.
- The E-2 Visa is valid for a five year period and can be renewed continuously as long as the investment still qualifies.
- The spouse of the Grenada citizenship E-2 visa applicant has open market employment opportunities in the US.
- Successful E-2 visa holders can reside and work in the US while their EB-5 permanent residence applications are pending.
- Applicants for the E-2 visa may convert their status to the EB-5 (green card) provided they meet the investment criteria.
- Processing time for E-2 visa is usually two months or less.
- Children (under 21 years) of the E-2 applicant can attend school in the US and may be eligible for in-state tuition.
- E-2 visa applicant and family members may be inside or outside the US during the term of the visa.

Grenada Tax Information
As an applicant of the Grenada citizenship by investment program you do not need to be concerned with income tax on foreign income. Additionally, in Grenada there is no capital gains tax, wealth tax, inheritance tax or taxes on dividend income.
Domestic Income Tax
Citizens of Grenada will only pay personal income tax if the income is sourced domestically. The currency used on Grenada is the Eastern Caribbean dollar (XCD) which is pegged to the US Dollar at 2.7 XCD per 1 USD.

Value Added Tax (VAT)
A VAT tax rate of 15% is charged on goods and services that are purchased in Grenada and goods/supplies imported into Grenada.
Business Tax
Resident companies must pay Grenada tax on business income. A company is resident if it is registered in Grenada or their main point of control is in Grenada. However, non-resident companies only pay Grenada tax on business income after they have established a branch in Grenada. If so, they pay tax on business/trade that is being conducted in Grenada. The tax rate on business income is 28%.

A company is also required to pay annual stamp tax on its gross receipts which includes revenues from rental income, dividend income, interest income, investment income, cost of materials from stocks, and sale or disposal of goods and services.

Property Transfer Tax
Those who buy or sell property by deed transfer in Grenada are required to pay transfer tax whether the transaction is a sale, gift or other method of disposition. *Note – the transfer of real estate held by share ownership does not attract transfer taxes. Additionally, property transferred by Deed of Gift is only taxable on the amount that exceeds XCD 150,000. Property dispositions by other means are taxed only on the amount exceeding XCD 20,000.
