Kyrgyzstan

The neighbors of Kyrgyzstan are Kazakhstan to the north, China (Xinjiang) to the east, Tajikistan to the south and Uzbekistan to the west. Additionally, the geography is very mountainous and the prolific Tian Shan mountain range covers 80% of the country. Due to its complete mountainous enclosure, all of the rivers in the country empty within its own borders. Therefore, the water flows inwards and helps to form the 2nd largest freshwater lake in the world – Issyk Kul. Despite its enormous mountain enclosure, the Silk Road passed through the country connecting China with Europe. My Kyrgyzstan travel adventure was a unique and rewarding experience.
